Burial Coordinator

The Burial Coordinator is a 40-hour-per-week position. Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Coordination of the daily burials for the four Archdiocesan Catholic Cemeteries
• Carefully reviewing all interment requests to ensure accuracy in completion
• Entering information in the software system to generate the paperwork needed by the field workers to open the graves
• Resolving any issues with families and funeral homes before a burial takes place

Qualifications:

• Requires excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Must have organizational skills
• Must be attentive to details
• Must work well being part of a team
• Must be able to learn quickly and retain information
• Must have basic computer skills including Excel
• Must be able to multitask and manage interruptions
• Must be able to work 1/2 day ( 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) once a month on Saturday as scheduled

Full-Time Cemetery Grounds Maintenance

The Catholic Cemeteries are currently seeking employees for Seasonal positions (April 1st through October 31st / 28 hours per week). The maintenance duties may include and are not limited to:

• Cut grass, trim around trees, walkways, and memorial markers
• Assist in funerals as needed by setting up tents, lowering devices, laying out drive boards, shoveling dirt, and cleaning up around the gravesite
• Work safely and comply with the company’s safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work as a team member, communicate effectively with foremen, fellow employees, contractor personnel, and families
• Must show respect and sensitivity toward families and visitors
• Ability to work outside in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to use shovels, picks, jack hammers, hedge trimmers, loppers, hand saws, and other miscellaneous equipment and tools
• Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Must pass drug test and background check

• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (lawn mowers, string trimmers, etc.)
• Must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Must pass drug test and background check
